🏆 cityforchildren.pl has reached the finals of the Inspire Future Generations Awards 2025, organized by TET (Thornton Education Trust), and is the only initiative from Poland among the nominees! 🏆
On Sunday, I organised an informal meeting for people interested in child-friendly cities with Tim Gill, author of Urban Playground and the writer of the beautiful foreword to my book The City Game.
At the end of October, I had the honour and great pleasure of being invited by Buro Happold to take part in A City in Flux / Design Sprint as an external expert.
I’m levelling up! For anyone who doesn’t want to buy my book The City Game on Amazon and happens to be in Warsaw. Starting this Friday, it will be available in the Inbook.pl Nike Bookstore at Puławska 11. At least until the end of the year. And at a better price than on Amazon!
I wrote “The City Game” for children, but from the reviews on Amazon I can see that adults appreciate it too 🙂
Last Saturday (August 30), I had the pleasure of speaking on the national Polish TV – TVP3 morning show “Dobry Dzień” (“Good Day”) about my book “The City Game,” how children perceive urban space, and why it’s so important to support them as they take their first steps toward independence in the city.
Another great news! My project has been selected for funding under the open call for cascading grants by the NEBA Alliance.
It all started eight years ago with my daughter, when I decided to find out why she didn’t want to go to school on her own. We examined the city’s infrastructure — we walked, took trams, buses, and rode bikes. We talked, and she took photos of what she saw from her own height.
During the gala “Designed Humanely: Happy Neighborhoods,” the cityforchildren.pl project won in the “Initiative – Action” category, receiving the Readers’ Choice Award.
I’m honored that I could contribute my knowledge to the article by Natalia Olszewska and Łukasz Krupiński, “From Neuroscience to Design: Creating Spaces that Nurture Childhood Learning,” published in Conscious Cities Journal No. 7, and that I was quoted among experts working in this field.
