Out of 185 surveyed countries (those that have ratified the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child), Poland is on 123 position in the Kids Rights Index. It is the worst result in the EU, marked with a different colour on a map to mark a lower performance cluster.
After May in Le Plessis-Robinson, where I was surrounded by a new ‘old town’, in June I went for CHANGING CITIES V conference. It took place in Corfu town, which made me reflect further on a topic of place, continuity and power, as well as different aspects of memory in urban environment. Memory of the place was also a big topic of the conference itself, with a day session devoted to it.
When my children heard I would speak on a conference in Paris, they immediately asked me if I was going to visit Disneyland. I said ‘no’. But now, upon my return home to Warsaw, when I sat down to wrap up events of the week of IMCL conference in France, I realised that I actually had visited it.
In 2022 I will present in: Paris (Le Plessis-Robinson), Corfu and Dublin.
It’s a big, big day for me – the first time my article concerning children in urban space has been published in Polish. The publication, entitled “Cities of human rights. Inspirations. Good practices. Tools.” is addressed mainly to local governments.
Forum CUPT “EU for Smart Mobility” – the first for a very long time live event. I took part in the panel session “‘Accessibility as the safety of all travelers”, where I represented the point of view of children.
This event will not be solely devoted to children but to all of us. This year theme is “The Person-Space Continuum”.
Finally! The event which has been moved a couple of times because of pandemic – “EU for smart mobility” will take place live 🙂 During the event I will talk in a panel session ” Accessibility as the safety of all travelers”. I will talk of what children expect from a public transport and why it should fulfill also their needs.
During “Accessible public transport” organised by Centre for EU Transport Projects (CEUPT) I talked of how children perceive safety in urban space and in public transport.
Once again this year I will talk during a conference. I will tell about a project that I started during lockdown – writing a book for and with children.
